People keep asking what an ordinary day with an internet-famous dog looks like. So here's one, start to finish - a day in the life of Sami, aged almost seven, personality significantly larger than his body.
We start around 9 am, because Sami is not an early riser and could honestly sleep until noon. He's my dog, no question. He starts the night in his own bed, promotes himself to ours around 5 am, and wakes up to mandatory cuddles followed by his morning massage from Bobby - we literally cannot start the day without it. Then the sacred ritual: face rubbed thoroughly on the fluffiest carpet in the house, followed by a balcony inspection to confirm the neighborhood survived the night.
Breakfast involves his little waiting bed, where he sits while I prepare his food and periodically tests whether the rules still apply (they do). On the morning walk we stopped at the daily fruit market near our home, where the vendors know him by name, and I bought mango and papaya - his two favorite things in existence. Every time I cut fruit at home, Sami is first in line, and when it's mango, there is no getting rid of him.
Then work, which in this house means filming. I make all our videos alone - no team - so my filming crew is a gimbal with an AI tracker that follows Sami's face around while I dispense the treats, because my dog does not work for free. Most of the day he naps in the sun on the balcony or falls asleep on the back of the sofa and barks at whatever he's dreaming about.
The evening walk was a beach one - fifteen minutes' drive, timed for the sunset - where a group of strangers watched him for a while, came over to meet him, and asked for a photo when they heard he was famous. He accepted the attention as his due, as always.
We ended the day with a comfort series on TV, Sami dozing against me, until he snuck off to the bedroom around 11 pm and put himself to bed like a responsible dog. He has work in the morning, after all.
